Had the opportunity to purchase a bunch of inventory the last few days.  If you have been watching my social media, you know it’s not my typical stuff.  First off, the former owner is still alive at 97 and a retired Doctor and finally moving out of his home.  It was jam packed with fine furnishings and collectibles. I knabbed some great furniture in a Victorian or French Provincial Reproduction style.  Most items were purchased new in the late 60s/early 70s as I can tell.  That said, things are clean and well taken care of.  I already have been processing and listing things so stay tuned to my shops.  I have been adding shipping/delivery into my pricing on Etsy as they are pushing for that. Amazing authentic Chinese jewelry cabinet.  In perfect condition with lock and key.  

Italian fencing foils. You never know when you will want to challenge someone to a duel. That Chinese rug is in my freezer at the moment. Freezing destroys any moth activity including eggs. I do not want them in my home. A few days in the freezer and no chance of them hitching a ride. No visual sign of moth activity!

The last part of my buy is medical stuff.  Lots of weird stuff.  Yea for that!  I have tool kits, bottles, a scale, vintage sun lamp and so many cool things.  Thinking i will hammer through them and put in my eBay shop. While we are working on ottomans......

Hey there! I realized how busy I was this week when I looked over last week’s post! So I had just finished up the bamboo ottoman.  I then grabbed two vinyl ottomans from my storage and was off running!  By Friday I was at my upholsterer getting him to make me a few buttons.  I have logged many hours on my sewing machine this week.  Here is a picture story of my creations. 

I love this Ikat fabric so much!  I sold the rocker and it is now at it’s new home in North Carolina.  I hear my client was thrilled! I have a trusted delivery partner who hand delivered to her for a very reasonable $185.  I could not drive it there for that price.   

I really took time to center the pattern and I am thrilled with it! The coordinating piping steps it up a notch.  It’s all about the detailing! 

Here is a look at the underside.  I reused the cardboard since it was in good shape.  

This beauty is listed and ready for a home!  Next I decided to glam up the round ottoman with that awesome pink velvet I used on the x benches!   

I made my piping this time.  The bench went smooth although sewing through the thick felted back velvet was challenging in multiple layers! 

Blush is such a great color! It looks good with neutrals, blues and greens.  A soft accent which you will pet frequently!  

This one is also listed and ready to go! ☝️

Next up I am working on perfecting my sewing skills so I can crank out custom pillow covers. I used the ikat for my prototypes.  Adding zipper access is important to me so I am working on my skills.  

One down! This fabric looks incredible with the cobalt couch!  I may just throw this set in for whoever purchases it.  My stitches are wonky and it’s not perfect around the zipper but I am pleased with the pattern.  I will be finishing up the second soon. 

The reason I was hot for pillows is I want to start making some for my Adrian Pearsall couch which I plan on picking up in the coming weeks. It needs a full restoration which I will be coordinating and I figure if I get the pillows made it will excite me even more!  

I posted a video this week where I was working on getting basement musty odor out of some 1971 Knoll yardage my aunt gave me. I used a vinegar steam and in 2 treatments, it is pretty much eradicated!  Stop by my Facebook page and have a watch.  The fabric is Dynamic, which was reissued a few years back and currently available at $165 a yard!!!!!  So before I cut it I wanted to clean it, now I am practicing pillows! Ha.  

THIS WEEKEND: I will be camping in the Catskills.....pretty much off the grid.  I may randomly get alerts or emails but I know for a fact there is no service in the campground.  I will respond to inquiries as soon as possible but after we arrive Friday through Sunday when we leave, do not expect a response.  All orders purchased after Thursday night will ship the following Monday.  I am pretty much shipping same or next day at this time so I would not say this is much of a delay, but just know it’s only because I am out of town. I am having an eBay buyer picking up some blow molds at our campsite to save him from driving all the way to PA from northeast of Binghamton! I love working work into my trips and glad to save him from a crazy road trip.  Plus Jesus, Mary and Joseph will be our copilots on the trip! 😂👌 Thanks for all your support!  I have been shipping out at least 2 orders a day recently! Lots of textiles on the move.  I just restocked Kantha Quilt placemats and have 7 more sets available.  There are some at my mall space locally as well.

Weekend hustle. Pics of the new couch.

I had a great weekend starting off with picking up the pink velvet couch.  Wow is it stunning!  Wanted to share pics of it cleaned up and it is AVAILABLE.   Listing is up on ETSY and coming soon to Chairish.

I so love the feather cushion!  This piece was restored in the not so distant past.  Everything is in amazing shape including the feather insert.  

I won these French made pillows that I thought would be a perfect match! They also have down inserts.

After a cleaning and refreshing of the wood, these carvings really shine! This foot design is known as a lion paw or hairy paw. The shell motif was less common in American reproductions in the early part of the 20th Century.  I found no clues on it’s maker and most pieces from this era are not as elaborate as this piece.  The upholstery redo is fantastic work.

The left side eagle has been repaired and failed so I will be tending to that. Otherwise, only issues are some light stains on the fabric which are pretty minor.

Pieces this great really do not turn up that often and I will say after extensively searching for another, there are some damn boring Chippendale reproductions out there!!!! The carvings not only make this piece, the shape does.  As you can see the camel hump is less pronounced and the flared ends really create a nice almost exotic look.  Not every Chippendale is the same and this one has everything going for it.  The pink velvet makes it very pertinent to today’s hot colors and textures and it will be timeless while adding class and elegance to your space.  Whether you have a Victorian home or a craftsman style bungalow, this piece will fit in with your eclectic look.

I always am hunting for pieces for clients and sometimes it takes longer than others.  I found one long dresser last year and placed it with the first person on my list.  I also had another waiting and this weekend I found a beauty!  

Beautiful walnut veneer 9 drawer chest reminiscent of the Broyhill Sculptra line but unmarked and still unidentified.  Recessed pulls on center drawers and beautiful gold and black filigree pulls on the ends.   

I brought it home and cleaned it up while reporting to my client details on condition and concerns.  There was only one area with some veneer chipping so we discussed that and made a plan.  I did some work blending in the area and it really helped. Delivered 24 hours later! If you are searching for a special piece, reach out with details and I will try to help you find it! 

Adding some stain to darken the area and then adding a clear coat to protect and seal helped this area blend in.  

After the touch up and not so much attention is drawn to the area.   

I was thrilled to visit my friends and clients who had me restore a pair of Heywood Wakefield dining chairs for them a few years ago.  It’s always great to visit my babies!  Plus I got to meet their adorable pups, Elvis and Audrey! So happy I could hook them up with this dreamy piece! 

The orange convertible couch is getting picked up tonight and heading to Delaware.  Things are on the move!  My etsy store will remain 10% off through the end of the month and they will be advertising sales etsywide.

A look at the many shapes of a Pearsall Jacks Table, plus new projects for spring!

I had an amazing weekend of deliveries!  The wave lounge is happy in it’s new home and the gold velvet tufted set is also loved and moved in.  I have the best clients! Love you guys!  

This piece is happy in it’s new home!  Love making furniture dreams come true! 

So what is next? I know you guys want to know!  First off I was so smitten by that Royale fabric, I just ordered 7 yards in blush.  It will be used on those great little Billy Baldwin style x benches I have. I have one ripped apart and ready for upholstery and will get to work on the second.  I have my pricing and these will be priced at $800 for the pair.  Super labor intensive project but worth the save!   I am thinking of adding a few buttons up top for interest.  I am a few months out from getting these to upholstery but at any time, feel free to claim them! They will be perfect at the foot of a bed! Very sturdy and well made.  They will be tailored and refined, much different than my typical mcm offerings.  

I am also going to collect more of the Craft Associates/Adrian Pearsall pieces that I am buying. I still have the jacks coffee table available which is priced under others in my markets.  There are replicas of this table out there so be careful.  What sets mine apart is that the end piece is not square.  That skew fits in the glass much better and adds more visual interest than the squared up version.

Not as sexy with this glass.  I suspect it may not be original.  Glass is super expensive to have cut and if you do not have the original shape traced to give the shop, you get this. 

I have no reason to believe mine is not authentic as it comes from a home with many more authentic pieces.  Speaking of that, I am ready to pick up more of these great pieces!  The upholstered goods all need restoration.  I will be taking them for quotes and yardage requirements as soon as I pick them up.  Then I will come up with as is pricing.  You will be able to purchase and arrange your own work.  You also can purchase and I can use my negotiated rates with my upholsterer (at his cost) plus I can help you with fabric selection using my wholesale and trade accounts (you save even more!).

I am staring an 8 week class this Thursday with Kutztown University’s Small Business division.  Looking forward to seeing where I can take this business next.  I love working with people across the country but I also know that my only way to grow and succeed is to break out with more services locally.  I need to connect to local professionals who would use my services.  I am not at the point where I feel I can support loans for capital and being a bookkeeper for much of my working life with other small business owners has taught me that life is very volatile and honestly, my personal funds cannot support my business so I will be treading lightly through this but excited to knock heads with other like minded entrepreneurs and see what opportunities are out there.  I would love to eventually end up in a retail/work space but I am far from that and overhead is the kiss of death in small business.  I will do my best to keep my response times quick during this but I will be busy!  Our final project is pitching our business to a bank for a loan! My 13 year old told me she’d do my PowerPoint presentation. 😂😂😂😂😂 

I have a few folks considering the orange convertible couch but no commitments yet.  It is so cool that I would have kept it if my husband was not so comfy with our sectional.  I am willing to drive pretty far to deliver so mid Atlantic peeps, take a look.  I need a few days to get it cleaned for delivery but this weekend is wide open for me so reach out!  

Really sexy and comfy, very good original condition with only minor signs of wear, back folds down flat for snoozing/guests, under seat storage.  Very cool piece!
