Meet my latest restoration!

Quick popping in to unveil my latest restoration! This right here is what I have been longing to do! It takes a long time to financially be able to invest this much money into a single project and hope someone falls in love! I am hoping to do more larger items like sofas in the future. Also note I have two beautiful upholstered chairs that have also received this special treatment and are looking for homes!

A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH. A ONCE CLASSY PIECE IS NOW TIRED AND STAINED. But it has a great shape and the size is more vintage thaN new which is much better for a smaller space. Modern furniture is So clunky and Appears to be designed for mcmansioNs. Having built a new home with 70s BLUEPRINTS, I CAN ATTEST TO THE FACT THAT MODEEN FURNITURE JUST DOES NOT FIT.

It was getting dark with no sun when i took this so you can SEE THAT EVEN IN LOW LIGHT SHE BOUNCES IT BAck.

The back CUSHIONS HAVE DOWN INSERTS. THE SEAT IS BRAND NEW FIRM FOAM. There is spring in THE MAIN STRUCTURE UNDER THE SEAT AND SHE HAS A LOVELY BOUNCE. With the new seat height at 18-1/2”, she is comfy for tall folk like me!

A closer look at the gorgeous italian linen by Clarence house Textiles. Those lighter threads shimmer. It’s a thicker tweed (for a linen) and will be dUrable. There is no stain protection as it is but i have a contact fOr that and WOULD gladly refer you if regional or arranGe prior to shipping at cost. This fabric retails for $300/yard and is Only available to the trade. It is LUxurIous and A DESIGNER FABRIC THAT FAR EXCEEDS QUALITY AND CONSTRUCTION OF MORe COMMON MID GRADE TEXTILES. Manufactured in italy.

The maker, Henredon, was a classic luxury furniture company. They were known for high quality furniture and are well respected by designers and decorators.

Pair that with an amazing luxury textile and a little bit of tweaking the original design, and we have a winner!

My Smile after sitting on her for the fIrst time. She was everything i wanted her to be and so darn comfy! At 72” long, She is a great size for a smaller space.

Frank Lloyd Wright Textile Reissue by Schumacher, Broyhill Beauties Ready to Ship

Schumacher is releasing a wonderful selection of Frank Lloyd Wright designs this month!  I have 40 samples on order.  There are sheers, velvets and linens,  Fine fabrics…..very fine and not cheap.  They are only available to purchase for approved trade accounts (interior designers, architects and yes……MAD MOD WORLD VINTAGE!  I was approved for a trade account and can purchase any items they carry!  I plan on grabbing some yardage that would be suitable for chair covering.  With the prices, however, I will not be able to buy a lot.  If this interests you, please look over the web site and see the choices, read about them.  I will have samples within the month if you are lucky to be near me, I would love to show them to you!  I will tell you that pricing for these textiles are $160-$300/yard!  I have a one yard minimum to buy, but I will cut my take down to 1/2 or 1/4 yards to sell.  If you would like me to order something just for you, I will ask a 50% deposit when I successfully place the order, balance due after I receive the order but before I ship out.  I will send you pics when it gets here as well!  Please reach out via email and I will keep you posted and help you out.  See anything else while you are in there?  Same applies.  These are all top of the line fabrics and items.  I am totally excited to get the samples!  This new trade relationship is super exciting and I look forward to helping folks obtain what they need to beautify their homes!

This fabric is hard to photograph and capture it precisely.  It was overcast in these shots.  In full sun, it appears much lighter than showing here.  I guess this will be more true to an interior lighting situation.  It is a great shade and a stunning choice! 

SUMMER NOTES.  

I have a few trips planned this summer that I know I will be totally off the grid for most or some of that period.  I will try to give fair warning and put updates in my shop during those times.  There is a trip to the Adirondacks coming up soon ending with a weekend at our beloved moe.down music festival, and later this summer, a weekend in the Catskills.  We will be traveling and living in our VW Vanagon and are very much looking forward to connecting with nature and each other.  I will definitely post some pics!  

Weaving update.  Chair 3 is almost complete.  Today got away from me and tomorrow I have to work, but hopefully Friday it will be done and I can start on chair #4.
