Moroccan tray table and incoming bedroom items

Hey there! I am still here and although I am less focused on my business these days, I am still trying to help people by purchasing their better brand mid century collectibles and move them on to new homes for the next Gen of collectors. The merch definitely is not as easy as it was to get and I refuse to bid up the competition which only drives up prices.

My husband wanted to go to the flea market on Sunday. I am not as enthusiastic as I used to be about finding things in the wild just because I am focused on working what little hours I get and looking for permanent full time work, but I said ok, let’s go!

I managed to buy a cute little Moroccan tray table from a gal who looked quite surprised I was interested. She told me that the comments she got all morning about the ‘pentagram’ on it and references to occult theme made her wonder if anyone would want it. I bought it and within the hour knew more.

This piece features a hand worked copper tray, intricately stamped and etched. The star symbol is taken from the Seal of Solomon and represents the five pillars of Islam. This star was used on the Moroccan flag since 1915. The tripod base is a beautiful piece of carved teak which is all cut from one piece and all pieces are permanently interlocking. It collapses into itself and is amazingly compact if needed to store. This piece will bring a taste of the exotic yet pair well with bohemian and eclectic decors, mid century and organic designs. It is now offered in my Etsy shop and on my website for local pick up.

Coming soon! I just got a 2 week warning to schedule pick up for some bedroom items I committed to buy several months ago. I have not seen anything in person and have been poking through the interwebs for authentication. This stuff is a mixed bag. There are far too many different attributions that I hesitate to mention them. I want to inspect in person and then I will deep dive for answers. In the mean time, I want to share some pics of what is coming and you can let me know if anything interests you. I have determined that this is higher end stuff. I will be pricing accordingly but will still be far under any others you will find. I am certain no one got the memo that the market has died? It should be a buyers market right now and in my world, it has always been. I want to provide high end collectibles for a value with high service to boot. The bad: I no longer have a delivery vehicle. I will be picking this up in my VW Vanagon and I will not be able to deliver in that vehicle. I can offer services of a Philadelphia based shipper who will deliver anywhere east of the Mississippi. Or you can rent a van and come get it yourself- which already puts you at a cheaper price as my website is pick up only and discounted from my Etsy and Chairish shops. Reach out if you want first deets on anything! Some of this may be Milo Baughman designs. I will work on that. 😘 (there is also a headboard….might be twin? Unsure by pic.

Incoming Walnut China Hutch

A new month has come and I am still putting things away and organizing what I brought home from the showroom. I just started going through some of the lighting that came home recently and will be getting it out to my booth at the mall. Such a nice stash of mid century fixtures that can easily be rewired and installed in another home. Watch my socials for pics as they arrive!

I will be picking up a nice walnut China cabinet by Stanley. It is all one piece. If you are looking and want first deets, message me!

At this point, I am also pending pick up of a bedroom which will be happening in early August. I believe it is higher end but without seeing it, do not want to suggest a maker. I will be slowing down and only taking on things on a case by case basis from here out so feel free to let me know if you are looking for something specific but when I say specific….i mean color, style, maker. I can’t work miracles and what comes up, comes up.

Here’s some pics of the booth as of Thursday…,soon to add more lights up above! ❤️ The dining chairs to the table were sold so I transformed it into a modern farmhouse look by adding 2 mismatched mid century chairs in a different look! The white is an Italian ladder back with woven seat and fun whimsical distorted tall back. The burl harp back features a caned seat. Get all 3 pieces for only $75! Also, the showroom space is filling up with the mall owners mid century items. Call me a trendsetter. 🤣 Shop WED-SUN 10-6! Some of my best decor and collectibles are here at super cheap prices. Nothing is over $250!

A note of THANKS!

What a great extravaganza weekend! I had lots of stuff find homes over the weekend and met so many great folks. You all made my days complete! That said, I started moving things home in preparation for my departure at the showroom and today packed my van to sell at Leesport Farmers Market tomorrow. If you get this before, I will be there 6am- noonish. Depending on the crowd and my stash!

The showroom is already looking sad as I started moving a few things home and trying to move as much as I can into my booth. The great purge will help me out as I do have some more furniture expected by June. I will use my downtime to really clean and organize all my storage. I will share pics of incoming buys as soon as it is confirmed. I am generally involved when the job gets bid on so once the client accepts the proposal, it is firm. I can say it’s bedrooms so far. I will probably curb my smalls since I will no longer have a place to keep that stuff. But who knows at this point?! I will keep buying and selling until I get another job as I can.

My month will be busy with a kid moving home from college next week, another graduating at the end of the month and my goal to be out of the showroom completely before Memorial Day weekend. I am packing my booth with lots of stuff so please to by and shop when the mall is open and my website is still available to buy it now at my lowest price and meets at the showroom until I am out and thereafter can either meet at the mall or my home. I only have one large piece currently and that is the teak dresser that has not been claimed yet. It’s a beauty!

Thanks for your support and I wish I did not have to leave but many things factored into that decision and I just could not justify keeping on with it.
